Tea House Renovation Project
- The D. Pedro Park in Aveiro was delineated in 1862. This house was built as a Tea House to provide entertainment for the high society of that time. Nowadays, this building is the rehearsal place for the Beiras Philharmonic Orchestra and needed urgent work to re-establish the security and comfort conditions.

- The walls exhibited rising damp; the roof had broken tiles, and the humidity inside of the building was very high.

- Being part of the sustainable park project, this intervention also needed to be an example of new technologies in a renovation project.

- Thus, the substitution of the roof tiles, some trusses and the incorporation of insulation was the first step. The integration of the rainwater collector system was planned considering two aspects: the toilets modification (to serve musicians from both genders) and the pipe renewal (to assure the efficiency of the water system).
Village Square Renovation
- The main goal of this renovation was to attribute to the village square the dignity that this place demanded. The intention was to give a new pavement and create more parking spaces, without loosing the multi-use nature of the square.

- I tried firstly to fulfil these two key assumptions, which compromised all the rest. Having a land with different access heights implies a particular care with the floor levelling. By taking advantage of this slope was created a diagonal parking lot.

- There was also a concern for leaving elements that allowed the reconversion of the space for the local festivities.

- Exploring the need to restructure the existing pavement, the parking lot has been extended so it can accommodate more places, having now a total capacity for 20 cars. A single lighting element was selected, creating a uniform light across the square.
